King George Middle School Bands

The Beginning Band course is designed for students who have no prior experience in band or for students who wish to learn a new instrument. Students will perform band literature graded at level I-II.  Students will perform a minimum of two concerts per school year. These performances are graded and held outside of the regular school day. Some rehearsals are also held outside of the regular school day.  Students will be exposed to a wide variety of compositional styles through performance.  Students will also be engaged in ear training, rhythmic dictation, music history and music theory throughout the course.
