King George Middle School Bands

The Symphonic Band course is designed for students who have at least two years prior experience in band.  Students will perform band literature graded at level II-IV.  Students will perform a minimum of three concerts per school year to include the District XV Band and Orchestra Directors’ Association Concert Band Assessment. These performances are graded and held outside of the regular school day. Some rehearsals are also held outside of the regular school day.  Students will be exposed to a wide variety of compositional styles through performance.  Students will also be engaged in ear training, rhythmic dictation, music history and music theory throughout the course.
